Rotary Youth Programs in Florida
Rotary is a leadership development organization helping create a new generation of leaders
Training and developing our youth to become stronger and capable leaders is of paramount importance for Rotarians. Through educational programs based on the principles of Service Above Self, Rotarians are preparing children, teenagers, and young adults for the opportunities and challenges of the 21st century.
The following is a list of Rotary-driven programs available in each of the Rotary Districts across the state of Florida—and proceeds from the sales of the Florida Rotary license plate may be used to fund these programs:
Interact Clubs
Focused on helping teenagers learn and develop leadership skills, Interact is a youth-oriented organization for children between 12 and 18 years of age. As one of the most popular Rotary Youth Programs, Interact exposes these future leaders to service projects and activities that can lead to a fulfilling life as adults.
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards
This annual event focuses on teaching young adults a range of leadership concepts, interpersonal skills, and confidence-building exercises in a day-long seminar format or camps spanning from a weekend to a whole week. The effects of RYLA are life-changing and these young men and women develop assertiveness and their own voice with the guidance of Rotarians who can help them shape their leadership voice and aptitudes.
Rotary Youth Exchange
RYE is one of the most amazing experiences in which a young adult can participate. Participants in this program are exposed to new ideas, cultures, and most importantly, the learning of a new language through a full-immersion program where students live and study abroad for up to one year. As a result, RYE students aged between 15 and 19 develop a strong sense of global citizenship and peace-building skills that leads to a lifetime of rewards.
New Generations Service Exchange
The New Generations Service Exchange gives university students and young professionals the opportunity to experience a short-term program that develops their leadership skills by combining professional goal-setting with exposure to a humanitarian project. This program is limited to young adults up to age 30.
